Check out the Interview Here

This past June Sound Museum Collective was interviewed for WHYY for the exhibit Body Conduit; An Experiment in Electromagnetic Socio-Interference.

Special Thanks to everyone who made this project possible, including but not limited to; The participants of “Electromagnetic Touch: Radios and Community Workshops”, Blue for helping solder a theremin, all collective members, and everyone who attended and participated in opening night. This was a very special evening filled with totally wild sounds and lots of exploration.

“Personally, it kind of blew my mind when I found out that all waves are part of the same spectrum of waves. They’re just existing at different frequencies,” said audio engineer Jackie Milestone. “So a radio wave is the same, in essence, as color. Which is kind of nuts.”

“How can we really tune into our sonic environment?” said Elissa Anderson. “It’s a physical experience as well as an emotional experience. With our selective attention spans that exist for survival, we have to tune so much out. What happens when we’re being mindful of all the sounds around us?”
